Abraham Kang
Graduate-for-hire

I am more than the choices that i've made.
I am a graduate from the National University of Singapore holding a B.Sc in Life Sciences, specializing in Biomedical Science. My passion is working with people, and my lively personality makes relationship building—with peers and superiors—that much easier. I enjoy challenging work, especially tasks that require critical and creative thinking. While I have always had a passion for wildlife in general, I do not foresee many sustainable opportunities to pursue this field in Singapore.
I am a thinker. I think about the future and plan for the worst case scenarios. I love intellectual discussions and hearing alternative points of view. I base my decisions 60% on logic and 40% on emotions, especially when it comes to relationships.
My strengths:
-
Good interpersonal ability: able to form good bonds with peers and superiors in a short time
-
Fast learner: I learn fast especially when I am given opportunities for hands on work.
-
Willing to try new things
-
Creative problem solver
-
Ability to see the big picture without compromising on the little details
-
Excellent presentation skills
My weaknesses:
-
Unwillingness to accept facts at face value: Sometimes I tend to question certain decisions that do not make sense to me, while trying to come up with a better solution
-
Slight hesitancy to delegate duties to other, because sometimes I feel I can do a better job than them
My hobbies:
-
Trekking/hiking (especially to higher elevations, most recent trip: Annapurna Circuit, 5400m)
-
MOBAs (online gaming, a part of my youth i still hold dear)
-
Crafts (making cards and gifts for loved ones)
-
Traveling (who doesn't)
My motivations:
-
To learn (about myself, the world and others, new skills along the way don't hurt either)
-
To experience (different cultures, different countries, different people)
-
To grow (as a citizen, son, brother and someday father)
My highlights:
-
Internship with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme
-
Scaling the 5400m Thorong La pass of the Annapurna Circuit Trek
-
Completing both horizontal and vertical marathons
-
Chairing the commitee for the Varisty Christian Fellowship in Science Faculty
